The 19th century sanctuary designed by Gaspare Tarbini houses carvings by Andrea Fantoni. The sanctuary's feast day commemorating the miracle of the Madonna of the Snow falls on 5th August. Entrance to both the Sanctuary and museum is free of charge. Telephone in advance to make an appointment.

CAPRIOLO
Parich Church of San Giorgio: originally built in the 17th century, the church was largely rebuilt at the turn of the 1900s. It is in the form of a Latin Cross and has an octagonal cupola.
The church displays some noteworthy works of art by Girolamo Romanino, Callisto Piazza and Andrea Fantoni and a 15th century wooden statue of the Madonna Vecchia. Open to visitors, appointment required. Contact the Curate on: 030 736 008. Entrance is free.
Chapel of Sant' Onofrio: built on a hill towering over the north of the village. Erected in the 18th century, it underwent total refurbishment in 1967. Inside the Chapel is a statue of the hermit saint. Given that the path leading to the chapel is somewhat precarious, it is strongly advised that you contact the Curate in advance to arrange a visit (tel: 030 736 008)
CAZZAGO SAN MARTINO
Chapel of Santa Giulia: The chapel is near the old castle, visits can be arranged by contacting the Curate. Entrance is free (tel: 030 725 048).
Chapel of San Stefano (Calino) From its location on Saint Stephen's Hill, this little church dominates the Valley of Calino, towering over the Maggi Palace. It has some beautifully painted 15th and 16th century frescoes. Not open to the public.
CELLATICA
Church of San Giorgio: work began on this church in 1500. Its three naves are divided by two arcades. On display are three highly valuable paintings by Francesco Paglia, Jacopo Amiconi and of the school of Romanino. Open for visits - contact the Curate (tel: 030 277 1662)
Sanctuary of the Madonna della Stella

Built in the 16th century, the Sanctuary houses some important works of art by artists including Romanino and Pietro Marone. It also has a historically important painting by Grazio Cossali depicting scenes of the life of St. Carlo Borromeo, who the artist knew personally.

Casa Trebeschi: A 14th century Franciscan convent housing frescoes by Teosa. Not open to the public.
COCCAGLIO
Church of Saint John the Baptist: This 15th century church stands adjacent to a Roman tower. It has a wooden statue of Christ at the Column and a painting by Vincenzo Civerchio of Saints Ursula and Anthony. Open to the public, contact the Curate (tel: 030 772 1248)
CORTE FRANCA
Church of Saint Euphemia (Nigoline)
This church was built pre 11th century. Its several important works of art include 16th century frescoes attributed to Floriano Ferramola. The central nave houses the tombs of the Della Corte family of Iseo and the Federici della Corte family. Donations are welcomed. To arrange a visit, contact the Curate (tel: 030 982 6110).
Church of Santa Maria (Colombaro): The current parish church dates from the late 17th/early 18th centuries and houses some good works of art. Open to the public - contact the Curate (tel: 030 982 6521).

Pieve Romanica di Santa Maria Maggiore
Via Castello - The architectural style of this church, dating from the XIII century, is a combination of romanesque and gothic features. It has some notable frescoes depicting the Madonna and Child and The Annunciation. Open to the public - Contact the Curate (tel. 030 776 0291)
GUSSAGO
Parrocchiale di Santa Maria Assunta: a long and wide series of steps adorned with a pair of stone carved lions leads to the parvis. Inside the church one can admire works by Angelo Inganni and Francesco Monti amongst others. The church is open to visitors - contact the Curate (030 252 2344).
Monastero della Santissima:
This Dominican Monastery dates from the 14th century. It is currently undergoing complete refurbishment and is closed to visitors.
Chiesa di Santa Maria di Piè del Dosso

A classic example of a country parish church dating from the Middle Ages. It houses a beautifully preserved exquisite marble ambo (a balustraded dais with lectern). Known as the "Pulpito di Majorans", this bas-relief dais made with marble bands dates from the VIII century and is an outstanding example of Longobard art.

ISEO
Pieve di Sant'Andrea

The parish church of Iseo. A church has been on the site most probably since the VI century, but the current edifice dates from the XII century. The facade has a typically Franco-Germanic central Romanesque bell tower. To the right of the facade is a splendid 14th century mausoleum designed by Giacomo Oldofredi. Inside the church are works by Inganni and Hayez. Open to the public all year.

Santuario Madonna della Rosa: This XIV century Sanctuary is situated on the crest of a hill with the same name. The bell tower standing to the side of the church was erected in 1569. Legend has it that a miracle took place in the church when water ceased spouting from its well until the departure of Austrian troops stationed in the village in 1833. Chapel of San Michele
Monte Orfano
A church has stood on this site since the 9th Century. This aisleless church has a trussed rafter roof, large semicircular apse and some fine 15th century frescoes.
A paleochristian tomb discovered near the consecrated ground testifies to this little church's ancient origins. Local legend has it that the "castello delle streghe" or "witches castle", stood here, on what was a druid site. This temple for the worship of pagan gods became a church during the reign of Roman Emperor Constantine. Open to the public - contact the Curate (tel. 030 982 3738)
Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta
This parish church was built in the 1500s and houses paintings by Palma il Giovane in addition to works of art by Andrea Fantoni, Antonio Paglia and Angelo Inganni. The neo classical restoration undertaken by Rodolfo Vantini in the mid 19th century can be admired in the internal decoration and appearance of the apse.
